From maximising function to colours and finishes, it’s imperative to have all the advice you can get before taking the plunge. That’s why we’ve asked one of our Senior Designers, Simon Tcherniak, to answer some of our most popular questions.
Simon is an award-winning designer, renowned for his talent and passion for furniture design. He’s outlined his best advice for consideration in the early stages of your Neville Johnson journey.
“How can fitted furniture help separate home working spaces from family life?“
Simon talks about the benefits of being able to create furniture that ‘transforms’ a room from one function to another; incorporating desks that can be hidden away and don’t make our living spaces feel ‘officey’.
“How can I maximise storage without over-crowding the room?”
“Bespoke fitted furniture maximises the storage because it’s made to fit the space”. Simon’s top advice for maximising space is to utilise wall space rather than floor space – making the furniture no deeper than the deepest thing that you want to store.
“What colours and finishes will stand the test of time and add value to my home?”
Generally speaking, if you want to add value to your home it’s better to choose lighter and more neutral colours in classic styles. Our Wentworth door range is a timeless Shaker style that will never go out of fashion – a very popular choice amongst our clients.
“What should I expect from my design visit and how can I prepare for it?”
