Our expert designer, David Thompson created this exquisite living room furniture solution, delivering exactly what the client needed to fit their family needs and lifestyle.

Before the initial designs began, David sat down with the client to discuss how the space would function, understanding exactly how the living room furniture would ultimately be used day to day. This first planning stage really helps the design process, achieving a practical, stylish solution that individually suits you and the way you live.

Each piece of furniture needed to work proportionally with the high walls and vaulted ceiling, fitting seamlessly into the space. The room has beautiful open views out onto the garden, and with the abundance of natural light it was essential the materials and finishes also stayed fresh and airy.

The library is constructed from high-quality materials with a light oak veneer to finish, blending beautifully with the rest of the interior decor and architectural details. The design features an assortment of shelving options, with handcrafted cabinets – including a hidden drinks cabinet and drawers to store away any untidy possessions such as paperwork.

As well as open and closed storage, there’s also clear back panelled areas where the family can showcase their favourite pieces of art. Design details like this can be tailored to your exact specifications, giving you as much flexibility to create a truly unique solution for your own collections. A specific piece of art was chosen for this space so the proportions needed to be perfect, shelving was then created around the artwork.

The impressive height of the library gives the family opportunity to display all of their much-loved books. An integrated ladder rail and co-ordinating light oak ladder provides easy access to the higher levels making sure they can get to each and every book.

Closed cabinets and statement artwork backboards are painted in a fantastic fresh colour, Hollyhock. This paired with the light oak veneer creates a stylish airy feel only highlighting the impressive size of the living room furniture.
