Because every homecoming should
feel extraordinary.

Your hallway does more than connect spaces. It sets the tone for the home you return to every day.

The staircase is an often-overlooked cornerstone of your home – the backdrop to photos on the first day of school, the sound of excited birthday footsteps, seasonal decorations to brighten the darker months, and the warm, familiar welcomes that close each day.

Whether your staircase feels out of step with the rest of your home or you’re completely reimagining your entryway, a Neville Johnson staircase renovation helps to create a cleaner, seamless space that feels truly your own.

Transform your home, not just your hallway.

A breathtaking new look, in just 48 hours

Our staircase renovations reimagine your home’s existing architecture, completely transforming the look of your staircase and breathing new life into your hallway with minimal disruption. Many homeowners don’t realise their staircase can look and feel completely new without being removed, but renovation opens up an entirely different world of possibilities. With a staircase renovation project, you can achieve a remarkable transformation without the mess or upheaval of a full rebuild.

Our philosophy is rooted in thoughtfully engineered, sustainable solutions, meaning we never need to rip out and start again. Instead, we carefully replace each visible element – from treads and risers to balustrades and handrails – using quality materials and refined, engineered detail.

This approach allows us to work seamlessly within UK building regulations, avoiding the need for planning permission in most homes while delivering a remarkable transformation in as little as 48 hours.

The power of thoughtful design

Every home has a unique rhythm, and your staircase should reflect that. The right staircase design has a powerful effect on the surrounding space, and the right staircase materials can change how an entire hallway feels:  Beyond materials, it’s often the smallest design decisions – the curve of a handrail, the shadow line of each step – which change how coming home feels, for the better.

And when it comes to layout decisions or structural considerations, having expert guidance matters. Staircases are both a focal feature and a key structural element, which is why our designers support you on every front, ensuring your renovation is not only beautiful, but brilliantly engineered.

Sleek glass balustrades don’t just make your staircase feel bigger, they can open up a smaller hallway completely, allowing light to flow more freely.

Rich timber brings warmth and timeless character, with a grounded, comfortable, welcoming feeling.

Striking metal detailing can make a bold statement and catch the eye without feeling heavy, adding depth, character, and definition.
